Bhel literally means a "mixture". Dahi Bhel is another mixture recipe - a mixture of papadis and pineapple, along with the goodness of beans, curds and of course a melange of chutneys. Tasty, crunchy and chatpata!
Cooking Time : Nil.
Preparation Time : 20 mins.
Serves 3 to 4.
Ingredients
15 to 20 papadis, crushed
1 tablespoon chopped pineapple (optional)
1 potato, boiled and cubed
1 tablespoon finely chopped raw mango
4 tablespoons white chick peas (kabuli chana) or green peas, boiled
2 to 3 tablespoons meethi soonth
1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons green chutney
1/2 cup fresh curds, whisked
2 teaspoons cumin seed (jeera) powder
2 teaspoons chilli powder
2 teaspoons chaat masala
salt to taste
Method
1. Mix the crushed papadis, pineapple, potato, raw mango, chick peas, meethi soonth, green chutney and curds in a bowl.
2. Sprinkle the cumin seed powder, chilli powder and chaat masala on top.
3. Serve immediately.
